US to provide Armenia with first tranche of $145M under Washington agreements

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a delegation led by Brendan Hanrahan, Senior Bureau Official for the State Department"s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien also attended the meeting, Report informs via Armenpress.

Welcoming the guests, Grigoryan highly appreciated the agreements reached during the Washington meetings on August 8 and expressed hope that, through joint efforts, bilateral relations would further develop within the framework of the memorandums of understanding signed between Armenia and the United States, the Deputy PM"s Office has said.

The sides discussed regional developments, prospects for unblocking communications and highlighted the importance of the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" project.

Hanrahan announced that, in cooperation with Congress, the United States intends to provide Armenia with $145 million in assistance.

He noted that this is the first tranche of funding aimed at implementing the Trump Route project and other agreements reached on August 8, supporting investments in trade, infrastructure, critical minerals supply chains, and cross-border security.
