Ukrainian forces strike Ozon logistics hub in Russia for first time

Ukraine's defence forces have struck an Ozon marketplace logistics hub in the Russian city of Chapayevsk in Samara Oblast on the night of August 21-22, causing a major fire at the facility, Report informs referring to Ukrainska Pravda, citing Russian media.

A large fire broke out at the complex following a drone strike. The flames quickly spread across a substantial area, sending a thick column of smoke into the sky.

The logistics hub in Chapayevsk covers 135,000 sq m and is one of the largest warehouse facilities in the Volga region. Its construction cost around 5 billion roubles (about $60.5 million).

Ozon is Russia's second-largest online marketplace, behind Wildberries.
