Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 12 Russian attacks, destroy 12 tanks

The Russian Armed Forces do not stop offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone to establish complete control over Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson Oblasts of Ukraine and maintain a land corridor between these territories and the occupied Crimea, Report informs, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian troops are particularly active in Slobozhansk and Donetsk.

According to the General Staff, the Russian Army continues to concentrate its main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian troops in the direction of the state border of Ukraine.

“In the direction of Izyum, groups from individual units of the 1st Tank Army and the 20th Combined Arms Army of Russia’s Western Military District, the 29th, 35th, 36th Combined Arms Army and the 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District and airborne troops concentrate their efforts on inflicting fire damage on Ukrainian units,” the General Staff said.

“In Donetsk, the group of occupying troops is concentrating its primary efforts on continuing offensive operations to take the city of Rubizhne under full control, capturing the settlements of Liman and Severodonetsk.”

“In the city of Mariupol, the enemy is blocking our units in the area of the Azovstal steelworks. They carry out assaults with artillery, tanks, and missile strikes.”

According to the General Staff, the Russian military continues to destroy the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine through missile attacks and shell settlements.

“Over the past day, air defense units of the Ukrainian Air Force and the Ground Forces hit 4 UAVs of the Orlan-10 type. In addition, one of the brigades of the air assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed one Mi-24 helicopter,” the General Staff said.

“In the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, defenders of Ukraine over the past day repelled 12 enemy attacks, destroyed 12 tanks, 4 artillery systems, 19 units of armored vehicles, 7 automobiles and 2 units of special engineering equipment.”
