Türkiye will make it harder for foreigners to obtain Turkish citizenship as part of the European Union (EU) membership process, Report informs via Hurriyet.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Sweden's accession to NATO will be possible after Türkiye is admitted to the EU.
Later, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Erdogan agreed "as soon as possible" to send papers to ratify Sweden's bid for NATO membership to the Turkish parliament. Sweden, as a member of the European Union, promised to help intensify the process of Türkiye's EU accession in exchange for the bid approval.
