Türkiye's Center for Combating Disinformation, operating under the Presidential Directorate of Communications, has denied reports claiming that a curfew will be imposed in Ankara during the NATO Summit on July 7–8.
According to Report, the center said in a statement that claims circulating on social media about a two-day curfew are false.
"No curfew will be imposed in Ankara in connection with the NATO Summit to be held on July 7–8, 2026," the statement said.
The center added that the relevant authorities are taking all necessary legal measures in response to the spread of baseless claims aimed at creating panic and uncertainty among the public ahead of the summit.
The NATO Summit will be held in Ankara under heightened security measures. Turkish authorities have previously announced that around 70,000 security personnel will be deployed to maintain order.
Under a decision by the governor of Ankara, enhanced security measures will be in place along routes used by summit participants and official delegations. More than 30 streets will be completely closed, while approximately 10 major roads designated for official motorcades will be subject to heightened security controls.
