Türkiye's Foreign Ministry has welcomed steps by the United Kingdom, France, Canada and nine other countries aimed at banning trade and business ties with Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
According to Report, citing TRT Haber, the ministry said in a statement that efforts undermining the two-state solution have intensified.
It said settlement activity in the West Bank had reached a level that threatens the viability of a Palestinian state.
"An appropriate response to these activities has become essential to ensure a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian issue and establish a just and lasting peace in the region. In this context, we expect all responsible members of the international community to take similar decisions," the ministry said.
"Türkiye will continue its efforts toward the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders and with territorial integrity," the statement added.
