"Where was the West during the so-called frozen conflict in the region for the past 30 years?" Turkish Ambassador to Georgia Fatma Ceren Yazgan said in an interview with a local TV responding to a question about the West's place in new regional cooperation formats, Report informs.

"It is my question as a resident of the region. But as a diplomat, I understand where they have been. All this is linked to their interests. At the same time, it should be kept in mind that the West is not homogeneous, and everything should not be based on one actor," the envoy said.

Commented on Turkey's alleged attempts to oust the West from the region, the ambassador said: "No, Turkey is not trying to squeeze the West out of the region."
