Tokayev proposes creating digital monitoring, innovation centers under OTS

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed establishing a Digital Monitoring Center and a Digital Innovation Center under the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Report's correspondent dispatched to Turkistan informs that Tokayev made the statement during his speech at the informal summit of the OTS.

"These bodies will enable the organization's member states to make more active use of the capabilities of digital technologies. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account emerging cybersecurity threats," Tokayev said.

According to him, such mechanisms will make it possible to identify vulnerabilities in the digital space of OTS countries and prevent threats targeting infrastructure.

"These structures will be able to ensure the constant exchange of information between agencies of the organization's member states. Kazakhstan is ready to prepare relevant conceptual proposals on these initiatives and present them to OTS countries," Tokayev said.

He noted that all these concrete measures serve the common interests of Turkic states.

"Therefore, I consider it necessary to intensify cooperation in this direction and make it more effective," Tokayev emphasized.

The head of state stressed the importance of continuing work on the mutual recognition of electronic documents and digital signatures among the participating countries.

"Second, the space industry is one of the key areas capable of increasing the competitiveness of Turkic states. The consistent development of this sector will contribute to strengthening our scientific, technological and industrial potential. In particular, it is important to implement joint projects in satellite communications, navigation and monitoring and expand interaction in these areas. This will allow us to strengthen our technological independence and increase our innovation potential," Tokayev said.

The Kazakh president also said it is necessary to develop educational centers and scientific institutions that train specialists in science and technology.

"The exchange of experience, joint personnel training and the introduction of advanced technologies are of particular importance. In this regard, I propose creating a network of artificial intelligence centers of Turkic states," he said.
