Sadyr Zhaparov: Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan are reliable friends

Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan are entering a new stage in the development of bilateral relations, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said during his meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, according to Report's correspondent in Kyrgyzstan.

"Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan are united by historical roots and spiritual closeness. Our common values are reflected in the rich cultural heritage of both nations. As the great Nizami Ganjavi wisely said, every friend gained is a blessing bestowed by the heavens. I am proud to note that Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan have found reliable friends in each other," Zhaparov stated.

He also added that the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan once again confirms the special nature of relations between the countries:

"Our countries are entering a new stage in the development of bilateral cooperation built on the solid foundation of friendship and mutual trust. There are no unresolved issues between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan that could hinder the development of our strategic partnership. On the contrary, an atmosphere of full trust and openness has been established between the parties, which allows us to move forward with confidence. It is precisely in such an environment that important initiatives are put forward and decisions that determine the future of bilateral cooperation are made."

Zhaparov added that Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan cooperation has great potential for further expansion of mutual relations in the areas of transport, economy, investments, security, education, and other fields: "We hope that today's negotiations will be held in the spirit of mutual trust and constructive cooperation."
