Russian media report on presidential elections in Azerbaijan

For the first time, presidential elections in Azerbaijan are being held throughout the entire country, including the previously occupied territories of Karabakh, liberated as a result of the 44-day war and anti-terrorist measures, Russian publications Argumenti i Facti (AiF), Nezavisimaya Gazeta and Moskovsky Komsomolets write, Report informs.

“Elections are being held for the first time throughout the republic, as a result of the restoration of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan,” the publications write.

Russian media reported on the ongoing elections, candidates and other information for their readers.

Argumenti i Facti noted that the incumbent President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva voted in the elections in Khankandi.

Nezavisimaya Gazeta noted that observers from 88 countries are monitoring the ongoing elections.
