Russia to support holding of ‘referendums’ on Ukraine’s occupied territories

Russia will do everything to ensure safety at the “referendums” in the so-called DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions about joining the Russian Federation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his address to the nation, Report informs with reference to TASS.

“Parliaments of the people’s republics of Donbas, as well as military-civil administrations of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, decided to hold referendums on the future of these territories and appealed to us, to Russia, with a request to support such a step. I emphasize, we will do everything to ensure safe conditions for holding referendums so that people could express their will,” Putin said in his video address.

“And we will support the decision about our future, which will be made by the majority of residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions,” he noted.
