Russia's COVID death toll nears 317,000

Over the past day, medical experts recorded 15,830 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, Report informs referring to Russian media.
The total number of registered cases in the country since the pandemic onset has reached 10,666,679.
To date, a total of 316,904 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 741 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 9,706,802.
Currently, there are 642,973 active cases in the country.
More than 307.98 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 5.5 million lives, though unable to cope with 259.62 million patients, who managed to recover.
