Russia recalls ambassador from Armenia for consultations

Russia's Ambassador to Armenia, Sergei Kopyrkin, has been recalled to Moscow for consultations due to steps taken by Armenia's leadership toward closer alignment with the European Union (EU), according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Report informs via Armenian media outlets.
"The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, Sergei Pavlovich Kopyrkin, has been recalled to Moscow for consultations in connection with the steps taken by Armenia's leadership toward rapprochement with the EU, which undermine cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)," the minister said in a statement.
