Russia: 539 more people succumb to COVID-19

Russia has reported 16, 643 new COVID-19 cases over the past day, Report informs, citing the Operational Headquarters.
Overall, the country has seen 3,884,730 coronavirus cases since the pandemic onset.
In the last 24 hours, 539 people have succumbed to the pathogen, taking the country's overall COVID-19 death toll to 74,158.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province and has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
