Putin: What happened in Syria is not Russia's defeat

The events that took place in Syria are not a defeat for Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a conference on the results of the year, Report informs via Russian media.
"Russia has generally achieved its goals in Syria," he noted.
Putin also stated that he has not yet met with former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad after his arrival in Moscow, noting that he plans to do so.
