President of UN General Assembly visits Georgia

Abdulla Shahid, President of the United Nations General Assembly, has paid an official visit to Georgia, Report informs.

This is the first visit of the President of the United Nations General Assembly to Georgia.

During the visit, Abdulla Shahid will meet with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili.

The head of the UN General Assembly will also visit the occupation line, as well as the IDP settlement in the village of Tserovani. He will also see the House of Justice and get acquainted with the model of public services provided to citizens and reforms.

Abdulla Shahid will also visit the UN mission in Georgia, where he will meet with representatives of NGOs participating in the UN program.

Within the framework of the visit, the UN General Assembly president will get acquainted with the economic and tourism potential of Georgia’s Kakheti region.
