Political scientist: Georgia's participation in 3+3 regional format may cause discontent among European leaders

Georgia's participation in the Tehran meeting within the framework of the 3+3 regional format may cause dissatisfaction among European leaders and prompt a negative decision regarding Georgia's membership in the European Union, therefore, the Georgian leadership is wary of this participation, the head of the Center for Strategic Planning of Georgia, political scientist Levan Mamaladze, told Report.

He noted that by the end of this year, a decision will be made regarding the approval of Georgia for EU membership:

"In fact, the Georgian side is very interested in sitting at the table with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Russia and Türkiye. However, such a decision would not be correct as it is moving towards Europe at the present time. At the end of the year - after Europe makes decision regarding Georgia, it will be clear what steps we will take regarding the 3+3 regional format."
