Pezeshkian: Iran holds no hostility toward Americans, has not initiated war

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday said Iran holds no hostility toward the American people and has never initiated war, Report informs.

In a message addressed to the American people, Pezeshkian said that Iran "does not harbor any hostility toward US citizens," stressing that "we have never initiated war, but have firmly responded to any aggression against us."

He added that portraying Iran as a threat "does not align with historical record or current realities," noting that the Iranian people "hold no animosity toward other nations, including the peoples of the United States, Europe, and neighboring countries."

Pezeshkian said that targeting Iran's infrastructure affects its people and carries consequences beyond its borders, emphasizing that Iran's actions are "a legitimate exercise of the right to self-defense, not acts of aggression."

He further noted that the United States had carried out "unjustified military actions" against Iran on two occasions during ongoing negotiations.
