Peskov: Istanbul agreements can become basis for resolving Ukraine conflict

The Istanbul agreements may become the starting point for a Ukrainian settlement, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, Report informs via Russian press.

"In Washington, we also heard statements that this could become a basis, a starting point for negotiations. Well, and, of course, President Putin said that the negotiations could have the Istanbul agreements as a starting point," Peskov said.

"We observe that the European Union is actively discussing its militarization. This is a process we are monitoring closely, as the EU has designated Russia as its primary adversary," the Kremlin spokesman stated.

"All this militarization is primarily aimed at Russia, which is, of course, a matter of deep concern for us," he added.
