Iran reserves the right to defend itself against aggression from the United States and Israel, and the timing and scale of Tehran's response will be determined by the country's armed forces, Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, said at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council convened in response to US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
"Iran, in accordance with international law, fully reserves the legitimate right to defend itself against the blatant aggression of the United States and their Israeli proxy. The timing, nature, and scale of a proportional response will be determined by the armed forces," he said.
