Pashinyan: Russian military base not vital for Armenia's security

Yerevan does not consider the presence of the 102nd Russian military base in Armenia a vital necessity, though the issue of its removal has not been raised, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a briefing, Report informs via Armenian media outlets.

"It cannot be said that we regard the presence of the 102nd military base on Armenian territory as a vital necessity. If Russia decides to withdraw the military base [Gyumri – ed.] from the Republic of Armenia, we will not object. But if they wish to stay, we are ready to discuss that as well," he said.

Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia has never raised the issue of the 102nd Russian military base throughout this period.
