Pashinyan criticizes ex-president of Armenia following support for Catholicos

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, commented on the support of the country's ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosyan for the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II amid tensions between the latter and the government, Report informs.

"Levon Ter-Petrosyan is the founder of the election fraud in Armenia, and he, of course, supports such a populist-fraudster and swindler as Garegin II," wrote the Armenian Prime Minister on his Telegram channel.

On June 7, the first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan met with Garegin II and expressed his support for him, condemning the "unconstitutional encroachments of the Armenian authorities on the 1700-year-old church."

At the end of May, Pashinyan and his wife Anna Hakobyan made sharp derogatory statements on their Facebook pages against representatives of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
