Pashinyan calls for fresh look at Armenia-Russia relations amid new regional realities

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Yerevan is interested in further deepening and developing relations with Russia, but that the two countries' ties should be viewed afresh in light of new realities in the region, Report informs.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek.

According to Pashinyan, the situation in the region and around Armenia has changed in recent years, and relations between the two countries therefore need to be considered in light of these new realities.

"Relations between Russia and Armenia had a different meaning in a conflict environment, but now that peace has been established in the region, we believe the situation should be viewed with fresh eyes," the prime minister said.

He expressed confidence that such an approach would contribute to the further development of relations between Armenia and Russia.
