Pakistan's interior minister visits Iran

Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi has arrived in Tehran as part of Islamabad's mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington.

According to Azad Iran, cited by Report, Naqvi has visited Iran several times since May. During his previous visits, he held meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. His latest visit to Tehran on August 11 has also been reported by Anadolu Agency.

During one of his previous visits, Naqvi delivered a message from Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

Following the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East on February 28, Pakistan has emerged as one of the key mediators between the United States and Iran.
