Member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will strengthen joint efforts to locate individuals hiding from criminal prosecution, the report says, citing Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The interior ministers of OTS member states reached an agreement to this effect at a meeting held in Astana.
The meeting placed particular emphasis on the more prompt exchange of information, direct interaction between relevant services, and other issues.
"Crime knows no borders. Therefore, we must fight it together. The speed of information exchange, trust between our services, and concrete results are important here," Kazakhstan's Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov said.
The participants signed a joint declaration outlining key agreements in ensuring security and combating crime, as well as directions for further cooperation.
Following the meeting, it was decided that the fourth meeting of the OTS interior ministers will be held in Türkiye in 2027.
