Nearly 49,000 police deployed for security at NATO summit in Ankara

Preparations have been completed for the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit, which begins today in Türkiye, Report informs via Haber Global.

The summit will host leaders from 32 NATO member states, along with thousands of diplomats, journalists, and invited guests over the course of two days.

It was noted that all preparations - from security and logistics to communications and technology – have been finalized. During the summit, leaders will discuss strengthening NATO's deterrence and defense capabilities, Euro‑Atlantic security, defense spending, strategic goals for the alliance's future, as well as regional and global security issues.

"Esenboğa, Ankara, and Mürted airports will serve participants during the summit. For security, a total of 56,927 personnel will be deployed, including 48,841 police officers, 7,447 gendarmerie personnel, and 639 cybersecurity staff," the information said.
