NATO Deputy Secretary-General Mircea Geoana said in an interview with Digi-24 TV channel that the second phase of the war in Ukraine is inevitable, Report informs, citing RBK Ukraine.
"We expect to enter the second phase of the war soon. We are entering a more complicated stage, which differs from the first stage, covering a wider area from the Crimea and Mariupol in the south to the Donbas in the east," he said.
Geoana expressed hope that the confrontation would not last long, adding that such opportunities were low and that there would be serious casualties among civilians.
