Türkiye has no intention of leaving its base regions in northern Iraq and Syria, where it is fighting Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants, Report informs via the Hurriyet newspaper.
“The plan to eliminate terrorism at its source, which is being successfully implemented against the PKK and DAESH, will continue. The PKK wants Türkiye to give up these base areas, which will be beneficial to the PKK. There are no plans to give up our temporary base areas,” the paper writes.
The Turkish Air Force is conducting air operations in northern Iraq and Syria after the death of nine soldiers in an attack by PKK militants.
