Mayor: Chemical weapons used in Ukraine's Mariupol

Chemical weapons might be used in Mariupol, Ukraine, Mayor Vadym Boichenko said, Report informs via UNIAN.

He said residents around Mariupol had complained of deteriorating health after the Russian Armed Forces scattered poisonous substances.

"Indeed, a chemical substance was used. It was dropped from an UAV. We still can't take an example and prove what that chemical is. The wind blows this substance and its particles spread around. Residents of Sartana and Talakovka villages complained about their health. They are already being evacuated," the mayor said.

According to the mayor, people in these settlements felt an unusual taste in their mouths and other signs of chemical poisoning.

Boichenko also stressed that the Russian army barred the evacuation.
