Lusine Kharatyan: Media in Armenia and Azerbaijan should help strengthen peace

In the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the media must avoid the dehumanization of societies in both countries, Armenian writer and cultural anthropologist Lusine Kharatyan said at a press conference dedicated to the results of the fourth meeting of civil society representatives from both countries under the Peace Bridge Initiative, according to Report's correspondent in Gabala.

"I think one of the most important things the media can do is create new narratives where there is no dehumanization of the other side," she said.

According to her, this would help increase trust and strengthen peace.

Kharatyan also considers it important for the media to explain to citizens of both countries what peace means: "We will continue working in this direction."
