Lebanese president says Türkiye, Lebanon committed to deeper cooperation

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said Türkiye and Lebanon share deep-rooted ties and have the political will to further strengthen cooperation for the benefit of their peoples and regional stability.

According to Report, Aoun made the remarks at a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following their meeting at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

The Lebanese president thanked Erdoğan for the warm welcome and hospitality.

He said his visit comes at an important time for the region, stressing that the Middle East is currently going through a period in which its future is being shaped.

Aoun said the brotherly relations between Türkiye and Lebanon are of special importance and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to deepen.

He also noted that Erdoğan attaches great importance to developing relations between the two countries and is determined to take them to a new stage of cooperation.

The Lebanese president added that Türkiye had stood by Lebanon during its most difficult times and that its support is highly appreciated by the Lebanese people.
