Kostanyan: Armenia and Azerbaijan should intensify efforts to open communication

The South Caucasus is currently one of the most stable regions in the world, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan stated during a panel session titled "South Caucasus: On the Path to Becoming a Strategic Center" held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Report informs.

"Currently, the South Caucasus is one of the most stable regions in the world, especially at a time when logistics and supply chains are being disrupted and wars are taking place everywhere. However, the disruption of supply chains will not last forever. And we must be smart and flexible enough to realize the competitive advantages we possess," he stated.

According to him, Armenia and Azerbaijan should intensify their efforts toward opening communications.

"Just as in the matter of achieving peace, which requires political will and political decisions, now we must also move forward with new political, very important decisions to open communications in the region, to create additional interconnections between our countries, as well as to become a bridge and barrier-free link between Europe, Central Asia, and the Far East," the deputy minister stated.
