Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has announced that 2025 was a record year for Georgia in terms of tourism revenues.
According to Report's Georgia bureau, Kobakhidze made the statement while presenting the government's annual performance report to parliament.
He underlined that the country's tourism revenues reached $4.7 billion in 2025.
The prime minister noted that Georgia welcomed a total of 7.8 million international visitors in 2025, of which 5.522 million were tourists – an increase of 8.4% compared to the previous year.
Despite the impact of conflicts in the Middle East on tourist flows, tourism revenues in the first quarter of 2026 rose by 0.5% year‑on‑year.
During the same period, Georgian airports served more than 1.6 million passengers, up 4.3% annually, with 7,800 flights operated.
Kobakhidze added that around 20 new hotels with nearly 1,000 rooms were opened in the reporting period. Georgia now has 2,691 hotels offering a total of 53,000 rooms.
He further emphasized that the Georgian Ministry of Economy continues marketing activities in the country's strategic tourism markets.
