Kazakhstan Navy begins planned exercises in Caspian Sea

The Naval Forces of Kazakhstan have launched planned military exercises in the Caspian Sea, Report's Kazakhstan bureau informs, citing the country's Ministry of Defense.

"Planned exercises of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces have begun in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea. Crews are expected to navigate through the entire waters of the Kazakh sector, practice operations under various conditions and conduct live-fire exercises," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the exercises will consist of three stages. Sailors will practice coordination between vessels, navigation and communications, ship handling, and the use of weapons. Particular attention will be paid to the performance of crews away from the coast.

Captain 1st Rank Arman Satkanov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces for Combat Training, said that special attention during the exercises would be given to further improving the crews' practical skills.

"During the deployment and maneuvering phase, crews will conduct live-fire exercises using ship weapons and practice joint operations. As the stages progress, the tasks will become more complex, while additional units will join the exercises. The drills will contribute to improving the combat readiness of the Naval Forces," the ministry said.
