Kazakhstan imposes temporary ban on tomato imports

Kazakhstan imposed a temporary ban on the import of tomatoes from third countries on June 22, Report informs via Kazakh media.

The corresponding order was signed by Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov.

The import ban will be in effect until June 30, 2026.

"Impose a ban on the import of fresh or chilled tomatoes into the Republic of Kazakhstan by all modes of transport from third countries until June 30, 2026, with the exception of tomatoes imported from Eurasian Economic Union member states, transit shipments of tomatoes through the Republic of Kazakhstan, and their movement from one Eurasian Economic Union member state to another Eurasian Economic Union member state through the Republic of Kazakhstan," the document states.

The measure was introduced to support domestic producers and ensure stable product sales.
