Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia discuss energy cooperation prospects

Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, according to a statement by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy following a meeting between Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov and Saudi Arabian Ambassador Faisal Al-Qahtani.

Akkenzhenov emphasized the importance of further strengthening the energy partnership between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the importance of regular dialogue and coordination of positions on the development of the global energy market.

The sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, as well as promising areas of cooperation within the framework of OPEC+, the development of renewable energy sources and the introduction of modern green technologies.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the upcoming World Petroleum Congress in Riyadh. Kazakhstan considers it a platform for promoting priority projects, expanding business contacts and strengthening international cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The sides emphasized the importance of close cooperation in preparation for and during the Congress in Astana in 2028.
