Italian MFA: Turkiye can play decisive role in achieving peace in Ukraine

Turkiye, together with the UN, the Vatican, China, and the US, can play a decisive role in pushing the parties to start talks on Ukraine, Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said on the air of Radio 1, Report informs.

"Turkiye can and has done many things. I believe that Turkiye, together with the UN, the Vatican, China, and the United States, can play a decisive role in bringing Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table, which will lead to a ceasefire and then peace," Deputy PM said.

Commenting on the possible supply of air defense systems to Kyiv, the head of the MFA noted that 'there are technical problems':

"We intend to support Ukraine and protect its independence."
