Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian wants to increase the powers of provincial governors, according to Fatemeh Mohajerani, Spokesperson of the Iranian government, Report informs via IRNA.
She made the remark during a meeting with representatives of local executive authorities in the city of Sari, Mazandaran Province, on July 7.
According to Mohajerani, Pezeshkian emphasizes the importance of decentralization and transferring ministerial powers to provincial governors:
"The purpose of this approach is to transition to a management and decision-making model based on the local conditions of each region."
