Iran sets conditions for IAEA inspections of nuclear facilities

Iran has responded to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi's call for inspections of the country's nuclear facilities, saying the process could be possible under certain conditions.

According to Report, citing ISNA, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), made the statement.

"The agency's director general [IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi] must demand that the US and Israel stop attacks and threats against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities so that the necessary conditions are created for the implementation of IAEA safeguards," he said.

Grossi earlier said that granting access to Iran's key nuclear facilities would have positive consequences for Tehran.

The September meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors is currently underway, with Azerbaijan also delivering a statement.
