Iran's COVID-19 death toll nears 12,5 thousand

The death toll from coronavirus is nearing 12,5 thousand in Iran, as 142 other fell victim to the virus, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
According to Sima Sadat Lari, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education, 2,262 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected over the past day, while 142died.
The total number of infected since February 19, when authorities first reported the detection of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, reached 252,720, with 12,447 victims. Moreover, 215,500 people have recovered so far.
The situation is dire in Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Razavi Khorasan, Ilam, East Azerbaijan, and West Azerbaijan provinces.
