Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed protest over the actions of two French diplomats in Tehran during a phone call with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot, Report informs.
This was stated in a readout of the call posted on the Telegram channel of Iran's foreign minister.
Araghchi stressed that the behavior of the French diplomats was unacceptable and that the laws and regulations of the host country must be respected.
"Compliance with diplomatic principles and norms is a necessary condition for the continued activity of foreign missions," he said.
The Iranian minister called on his French counterpart to prevent a repeat of such actions and take the necessary measures.
The day before, Barrot said two French diplomats had been subjected to an "extremely serious act of intimidation" by Iranian security forces.
