Iran, Pakistan sign memorandum to expand trade cooperation

A memorandum of understanding on expanding trade cooperation was signed at the 10th meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee in Islamabad, Report informs, citing IRNA.

The memorandum signed in Islamabad sets out mutual commitments to achieving the target of $10 billion in bilateral trade and making progress toward signing a free trade agreement.

According to the information, the meeting was attended by Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Atabak and his Pakistani counterpart Jam Kamal Khan.

The meeting discussed trade cooperation, especially in border regions, the development of maritime and shipping activities, coordinated steps to advance a free trade agreement, the creation of joint free zones and barter trade.
