Iran, Oman continue talks on safe shipping route through Strait of Hormuz

Iran and Oman are continuing talks on identifying a suitable route for the safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, Report informs.
He made the remarks during a phone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
During the call, the sides held consultations on bilateral relations and developments in the region.
Ishaq Dar also explained Islamabad's position on the trilateral defense agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
According to ISNA, about 116 vessels passed through the Iranian route of the Strait of Hormuz on August 7-9.
The US Central Command, or CENTCOM, earlier said 55 vessels had been redirected after Iran restored its naval blockade.
