Iran executes protest participant

Iran has executed a man convicted over his involvement in protests and unrest that took place in December last year.
According to Tasnim, cited by Report, the executed man, Shahram Sadighi, was accused of running over law enforcement personnel.
According to the information, seven members of the security forces sustained injuries of varying severity in the incident. Sadighi allegedly fled the scene afterward and then set his vehicle on fire.
He was subsequently arrested and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out this morning.
On July 28, Iran also executed two people who had been accused of taking part in the unrest.
