Iran denies Trump's statements of agreed deal

Iran and the United States have not agreed on any draft text of a preliminary deal, an informed source close to Tehran's negotiating team told Iran"s Fars news agency, according to Report.

The source recalled that US President Donald Trump had earlier announced on the social network Truth Social that Iran had agreed at the highest level to the text of a preliminary memorandum.

"A few minutes later, in an interview with the American newspaper The New York Post, he made a similar statement, saying that the aforementioned text had been agreed upon," the report said.

The source pointed out that Trump"s statements came amid one of the most serious clashes since the announcement of a ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

"Trump [through his statements] intended to convince everyone that Iran had capitulated," the source told Fars.

Earlier, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid, citing Iranian officials, reported that Washington and Tehran had reached a preliminary agreement on a peaceful settlement of the conflict during negotiations. However, the deal must receive final approval from Iran"s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
