Iran has protested Saudi Arabia's actions against Yemen's Ansar Allah movement (Houthi rebels), Report informs, citing ISNA.
This was stated in an appeal to Saudi Arabia by Ali Akbar Velayati, senior adviser on international affairs to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
"Harming the Houthis means harming the Islamic Ummah," he said.
According to Velayati, Riyadh should reduce tensions with the Houthis and distance itself from US policy.
On August 9, a Houthi air attack on Yemen's Mokha port killed at least seven people. Today, the Houthis attacked a vessel in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, killing three crew members.
