Hakan Fidan: Türkiye will increase efficiency of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project

Türkiye intends to increase the efficiency of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project through expanded cooperation, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at the Global Transport Corridors forum organized at the Istanbul Congress Center, Report informs via CNN Türk.

According to Hakan Fidan, in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war and growing geopolitical risks, the importance of the Middle Corridor has increased even more.

"The Middle Corridor creates opportunities for economic development and trade diversification. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is an important component of this route," Fidan stated.

The diplomat added that the transformation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway into an important component of the Middle Corridor is the result of exemplary trilateral cooperation between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
