Türkiye expects that the new US administration will lift sanctions under the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told a press conference after talks with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, Report informs.
"The US is Türkiye’s important strategic partner and relations will continue in this regard. As we have clearly stated before, we expect that President Donald Trump's new administration will eliminate problematic areas in our relations, especially the sanctions under CAATSA," Fidan noted.
The CAATSA law was adopted in August 2017.
