Georgian PM says stronger US ties serve both countries' interests

Georgia supports relaunching its strategic partnership with the United States on the basis of a road map that defines shared priorities and concrete cooperation mechanisms.

Report"s local bureau informs that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said this during a speech at an official reception hosted by the US Embassy on the occasion of US Independence Day.

He said Georgia has for many years been a loyal, reliable and responsible partner of the United States and has consistently cooperated with Washington on regional security issues.

"Whenever the United States needed Georgia's support to pursue its strategic priorities, our country always responded to this call as a reliable partner," Kobakhidze said.

According to him, recent geopolitical developments have further increased the strategic importance of the South Caucasus at both regional and global levels, making Georgia"s role particularly significant.

The prime minister noted that, amid current geopolitical changes, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries is in the interests of both sides.

"Despite the challenges that have emerged in recent years, we believe the time has come to relaunch our strategic partnership through a concrete road map that defines shared priorities, practical cooperation mechanisms and clear strategic goals. Georgia offers a strategic partnership based on mutual respect, fairness and a clear framework for cooperation," he said.
