Georgian Deputy PM leaves ministerial post and politics

Georgia's Deputy Prime Minister Mamuka Mdinaradze is stepping down from his position as Minister for Regional Policy Issues and leaving politics.

According to Report, citing Georgian media, he announced the decision at a briefing.

"I decided to leave office and politics. I will not speak much: for me, these 10 years were about work, loyalty to the homeland, and great achievements together with friends," he stated.

Mdinaradze became a member of Georgia's parliament in 2016 and remained active in politics until September 2025, serving as one of the ruling party's main spokespersons. He later headed the State Security Service of Georgia. On April 30, 2026, after the creation of the post of State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies, Mdinaradze was appointed to that position.
